It's been a very full month to say the least. Time for a recap:
Sam was sick with the flu for about a week. Thankfully, none of the rest of us got it, but Sam looked like this most of the time:
Then it was time to get our Christmas tree. Off we went:
Well, the trees always look smaller on the lot and somehow we ended up with an enormous tree. Our first clue that the tree was too big was that Greg had to cut the bark off the trunk to get it to fit into the tree stand. Our next clue was when we broke said tree stand trying to stand up the tree. One mad dash to Home Depot and one brand new heavy duty tree stand later, we had the monster tree set up in our living room.
Look at it! It's taller than the second floor. Of course, Greg went out of town for the weekend and left me alone to battle the tree that ate our living room. I couldn't reach parts of the it, even with the ladder so I had to cling to the stair rail and reeeaaach way over to put the ornaments near the top. I spent the entire time having visions of falling headfirst into the tree and trying to remember if Jack knew how to dial 911.
Jack proved himself to be on the way to becoming an avant garde artist in the manner of Yoko Ono. He used black yarn and scotch tape to create two foot long arrows all over the kitchen tile.
I didn't ask him what the arrows were meant to represent, but it was very disorienting to find myself always going the wrong way.
Greg is elbowing me for the computer keyboard, so I'll stop here for the moment. Hope everyone's having a merry holiday season!
