Last week, Jack and I went to the Natural History Museum in L.A with some friends. We saw lots of cool things. We saw stuffed African mammals. Jack received a brief lesson on taxidermy and summed up as "They're real, but they're dead." We saw loads of creepy insects and Jack declined touching a hissing cockroach and an African millipede at the Insect Zoo. We made a brief visit to the gem and mineral hall. But most importantly, we saw the dinosaurs. Carnotaurus and Camptosaurus, Edmontosaurus and Allosaurus, Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops. And many more.
We spent some time in the discovery center which was very cool. You could spend all day in there. There were snakes and rocks and bones and everything (except the snakes) was for touching. In the corner, there was a little dinosaur dig, where you could dig dinosaur bones out of the dirt. Jack said that was his favorite part. We had a great time. Check out the pictures in the photo album.
As you might expect, however, we have watched Walking with Dinosaurs every day since.
Good looking kids, Shelley. I have two boys, 7 and 4.5, heavy on the dinosaurs as well. And Click Clack Moo is a dandy book.
I found your site while scoping out Typepad and I wanted to know what you though of it. Is it all simple for simple-minded folks like me? The interface easy, and the creation of photo albums as well? Blogger goes under every once in awhile, and Fotolog is a disaster for trying to post pix, so if I can combine the two and have it easy and workable, I'm all for it.
Thanks,
D
